Lek Cock-of-the-rock
A short walk through the cloud forest to reach the lek, the place where the male Cock-of-the-rock perform their noisy courtship. You will be able to observe them from a short distance in their natural habitat without disturbing them!
Less than 30 minutes walking separate our lodge from an incredible spectacle that takes place at sunrise and when the sun sets. In the distance the characteristic songs begin to be heard and when approaching, a multitude of red dots jump and move from tree to tree. The show is on!
Finca Palmonte’s Cock-of-the-rock lek has been there for more than 30 years, and we are committed to protecting and caring for it so that those who visit us can enjoy it as much as we do.
