A story of effort and hard work

Before the bridge over the Pastaza River existed, the only way to cross the riverbed was through a “tarabita”. Imagine the effort required to transport materials across the river and up the steep mountain to the farm. However, despite the challenges, our passion for creating a place where nature and conservation were the focus never waned.

Fortunately, the construction of the pedestrian bridge made it easier to access the property. But even with this improvement, continuing to transport materials and supplies by hand or with the help of pack animals was a constant challenge.

Since a decade ago, it has been adapted to a drive-through bridge. Crossing the narrow bridge by vehicle will not leave you unmoved.

Grandpa's house

Grandpa’s house is the original construction of the farm that has remained standing for more than 80 years. If the woods could talk, they could tell a thousand stories of life in this corner of the cloud forest.

This place has witnessed the passing of time and the generations that have passed through here. The original essence is kept alive in the common room, where the stories and energy of the past can still be felt.

Come and be part of history at Finca Palmonte.

Our Allies

The Ecological Corridor Llanganates-Sangay is an area of great importance for biodiversity conservation in Ecuador as it hosts a large number of endemic and endangered species. For this reason, multiple efforts are being made to protect and conserve the natural habitat of these species and to prevent their disappearance. Some of the organizations actively working in the conservation of the Ecological Corridor Llanganates-Sangay (CELS) are the EcoMinga Foundation and the WWF (World Wildlife Fund).

WWF is a non-profit organization that works around the world to protect biodiversity and reduce humanity’s ecological footprint on the planet. At CELS, WWF has been carrying out conservation and ecosystem restoration projects for years, and working in partnership with local communities to promote sustainable natural resource management practices and promote green tourism as a viable and responsible economic alternative.

In short, Finca Palmonte is located in a place not only beautiful, but also important for the preservation of biodiversity in the region, where you can connect with nature and enjoy a unique stay in a quiet and welcoming environment, while supporting the conservation of biodiversity and the work that organizations such as EcoMinga Foundation and WWF have encouraged in the area.
